Synopsis[]
Mrs Mangel shows an interest in Harold Bishop's newspaper column as Georgette. Jim Robinson refuses to believe Scott Robinson about Ross Warner. At the cafe, Des Clarke says how insurance companies have short arms and deep pockets. Jim meets Rob Lewis. Scott moans to Paul Robinson about Ross. He asks for Paul's help. Paul thinks Ross is fleecing Jim, and worries about his inheritance. Jim has a beer with Rob. Des shows Jim the company accounts which shows his business has just $2.38 in it. Jim realises that he is being conned by Ross. Jim says after 12 years of business partnership he had no reason to question Ross before. Ross calls round. Ross says the insurance company will not pay out until the fire is investigated. $3000 was drawn out of the accounts and just vanished. Jim thinks Ross has been taking the money. Scott snoops through Ross' briefcase in his car. Scott and Charlene Robinson come in, and show Jim evidence that Ross is corrupt. Jim feels betrayed. Ross says his wife is living beyond their means and always wants what others have. Jim thinks Ross had someone torch the factory. Ross has been busted. Harold has quit his job as a columnist. Mrs Mangel thinks Madge Ramsay will not be pleased as Harold had taken on the extra job to help pay for his wedding. Ross begs Jim not to call the police.
